Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of Engineering with a strong technical and leadership background to manage and oversee all engineering activities. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our engineering projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Your leadership will drive innovation and technical excellence across all of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Oversee the engineering department, providing direction and mentorship to a team of engineers and technical staff.
  • Project Oversight: Manage and ensure the successful execution of engineering projects from concept to completion, meeting client expectations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement engineering strategies and solutions that align with company goals and enhance project outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all engineering work adheres to relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver exceptional results.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that engineering resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges and promote continuous improvement in processes and methodologies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on engineering project progress, issues, and resolutions to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional designation is an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing engineering projects.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, construction processes, and project management tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management software and techniques, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
