Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Construction Site Supervisor to manage and coordinate on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will lead and supervise workers, oversee quality standards, and ensure adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Construction Activities: Oversee and coordinate site operations to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Lead Site Teams: Manage and direct tradespeople, laborers, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and ensure project success.
- Ensure Workplace Safety: Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Quality Control: Inspect work progress and completed tasks to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Schedule and Monitor Workflows: Plan and organize construction tasks, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion.
- Resolve Site Challenges: Address and resolve any issues or delays that arise on-site to minimize disruptions to project schedules.
- Manage Materials and Equipment: Oversee the delivery, storage, and proper use of construction materials, tools, and machinery.
- Prepare Reports: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress updates.
- Communicate with Stakeholders: Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and inspectors to ensure project alignment and address any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training in construction management or a related field is an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or a similar supervisory role in the construction industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals efficiently.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to address on-site challenges.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with teams and stakeholders.
- Certifications: WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and any other site-specific safety certifications.
